There were different events that happened within the framework of SPECRS (see SPECRS News). There were special seminars organized by SPECRS, in which participated not only the group of volunteers acquainted by the time of the conference 2000 and 2001, but also scientists and scholars specially invited to speak at the seminars of SPECRS or to participate as disputants.

2012

 JANUARY

Specification about the SPECRS meetings and activities for the year 2012.

Editing papers presented at the Conference ”REFLECTIONS ON PHILOSOPHICAL, SCIENTIFIC, AND THEOLOGICAL DIMENSIONS OF INTERFACING”, held 17-19th November 2011, in the frame of the Grant project ID #15 562 received from the John Templeton Foundation (JTF).

 FEBRUARY

Receiving and catologizing of the International Society for Science and Religion Library (ISSR Library) award of 224 books on science and religion delivered from ISSR, UK, to SRPh, Russia

Dr. Grigiri Benevitch, JTF project member, got a Scholarship at Princeton Theological Seminary for February-May, 2011.

Award from The International Society for Science and Religion Library (ISSR Library) of 225 books on science and religion to be delivered from ISSR, UK, to SRPh, Russia

Dr. Pecherskaya presentation of a paper Religious Multidiversity and the Challenges of Globalization in Religious Studies at the international conference “Religious Freedom and Intraconfessional Dialogue: Global Challenges and Local Demonstrations”, 20-21 May 2011, in Kiev, held by the Coordinative Council of CIS and Baltic States on the religious studies questions of theory and practice, at the Institute for Philosophy of Unkranian National Academy of Sciences.

Conference "Science and Religion in Globalizing World oraganized by Fr. Kirill Kopeikin, JTF project member, 23d May 2011, at the ST.Petersburg State University, with the attendance of the representatives of the ST. Petersburg Orthodox Theological Academy and Seminary, Moscow Patriarchate, St.Petersburg scientific organization.

Fr. Dimitry Kiryanov, JTF project member, presenting a series of lectures on science and religion at Moscow Theological Academy, 25-28 May 2010.

Fr. Dimitry Kiryanov, received an individual grant F. Crowe bursary of 2010 ã. from Lonergan Research Institute (Regis College, Toronto) for buying books for his work on dissertation.  JUNE

Printing the Collected Scholarly Publications SRPh, v. 10, (First Readings), SRPh Publ., 2011, pp.222 (in Russian).

Successful defense by Dr. Alexei Oskolsky, JTF project member, of his doctoral thesis “Evolutionary morphology and phylogenetics of the plant family Araliaceae Juss”, 1st June 2011, at the Botany Institute, Russian Academy of Science.

 JULY-AUGUST

International Conference on GLOBALIZATION OF KNOWLEDGE: Economics, Ecology, and the Humanities 25-26 July, Shanghai, PRC, East China Normal University, and Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Shanghai, PRC. Pecherskaya presentation The Triple Response of Russia to Challenges of Globalization: Traditional Orthodoxy, Nationalism, and Internationalization of Trade and Culture.

18-19 August, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, International Conference THE FUTURE OF CREATION OEDER, organized by The Association for Reformational Philosophy, Free University of Amsterdam. JTF members Dr. Alexei Vyazmin, Fr. Dimitri Kiryianov, and DR. Natalia Pecherskaya are invited to make presentations at the Round tables in the frame of the conference.

 SEPTEMBER

Joint SRPh-GSP decision about co-sponsoring International Journal of Decision Ethics on Global Conflicts, Higher Education, Business and Economics (IJDE), Publisher-GSP, sponsor - Department of Educational Studies, Oxford University, UK.
